It would be bad enough if all I advocated was that the rich actually pay the full costs of their consumption including offsetting the impacts of their pollution. I would suggest that we go farther and actually force them to reduce their consumption because that is what is truly needed. Pay to play is not good enough because they would just pay and continue to pollute, they are not sensitive to price. Actually, they would enjoy flaunting their extravagant spending. We need to force them to idle their jets and boats and sell off their excess real estates. I am not talking about just the 1%, I am talking about the 10 to 20% who live in what to the rest know is luxury.
