Lecture her, what kind of asshole are you. If it is a friend provide friendly counsel in advance not a lecture afterwards. If a person does not drive very many miles it could even be less harmful to the environment to drive a fossil fueled vehicle, but not huge one. My wife does not drive her modest SUV much at all and no lithium needed to be mined and much less cobalt, copper, nickel etc. to build it.

If you are lecturing your friends then expect them to ignore you advice. You can't shove this stuff down people's throats, you have to lead, encourage, counsel, advise, modestly not holier than thou.
