Long ago we should have dropped the term socialist. It is too imprecise.

Marxist

Nordic Socialism

European Welfare State

Middle Eastern Petro State

Notice the last three are actually Capitalistic and even China has moved beyond its Maoist past is strongly Capitalistic.

The Bolivarians, the Maoists, and the Marxists, stripped the rich of their wealth and power and gave it to the party leadership.

There are some in the U.S. who are calling for confiscatory taxes on the rich here in the name of them paying their fair share, myself to a degree. If the government were to take billions of dollars from the rich what do you think the party leaders will do with the money? If the past is any indication is they will give it right back to the rich one way or another.
