Many flaws in this story. Yes, unconservative extraction is bad. You seem to have disregarded the fact that the sun constantly provides the Earth about 1.74 x 10E17 watts of energy and Scientists estimate that about 48.5 tons (44,000 kilograms) of meteoritic material falls on Earth each day.

We are not depleting the Earth but like you mentioned we are disrupting the natural cycles. Not all the disruptions are negative or harmful. Many human activities are harmful but we have reduced our negative practices and should continue to do so.

With increased awareness we could eliminate almost all our harmful activities and promote even more restorative practices.

Eliminating a great deal of our most wasteful practices would be sorely welcomed.

A coal fired power plant, owned by a company, owned by the people or owned by the government still produces dirty power. Like you said Capitalism isn't the main problem. Greed is the main problem, people's, even poor people's greed. People want things, warmth, food, etc. and mostly they don't care what harms result from satisfying their wants.
