Maybe we need something like the Voting Rights Act, call it the Equal Education Act. School districts that provide unequal educations will be put under watch with court order corrections required under penalty of law. Class size, Teacher Qualification, Curriculums, Extra Curricular activities, quality of desks, teaching materials and buildings all need to be up to standards and every school has to be at least 90% as good as the best in the state. Not equal funding or equal outcome but equal provision. We need to provide everyone the same chance, same quality. It will not always cost the same or produce the same outcome but we gave everyone the same privilege.
