Nature has such lessons for us. Glad most of us don't need to be brutal to survive. Nature is full of joy and heart break. A hopefully endless cycle. On that note I would side with the losers to keep a balance so both will continue to persist. In my current neighborhood, I never see the owls. I don't know how numerous they might be but not as many as the crows. We are surrounded by massive, protected swamp, wetlands, marsh and bayou. It is hard not to root for the owls. I do not fear the crows going extinct but the owls, I feel (a totally not professional opinion) are more threatened.
