Nice writing and an interesting read. Not sure about Vivek needing more security. I don't know what he has for security, but I don't see his message penetrating the dim brains enough to cause a security threat. Medger, Martin and Malcolm were a different kind of force, they moved people deeply. Vivek, I don't think he did or maybe he got some laughs. If you disregard his racism (he thinks his group is superior kind) and imagine he was white talking to a white audience about what is wrong with American families and American schools, and he is not saying anything I have not heard many others say many times. I have done STEM outreach to promote interest in technical education and the people who recruited me think much like Vivek, except for the Indian parents (or other Asian parents) are better part (actually some of them did think that Asian parents prepare their kids better for success). For almost all parents it is easier (and more fun) to teach your kids sports than it is to teach your kids to read or do calculus.
