No way I could grind beans and make French press (yes, I have one and have used it) coffee faster than a pod. Yes, you can grind the beans while the water heats but unless you have some super fast way to heat water, I would be drinking my pod coffee before your water is hot. The difference is not significant, probably on the order of 20 or 30 seconds give or take. It is probably an acquired taste, but I like my pod donut shoppe coffee better than any other coffee. They all taste not quite right after years of drinking this coffee.
