Not at all. It would be just fine maybe even better.

You can't deny that the job market, political leadership and the Grammy awards are zero sum games, every additional job, leadership position or Grammy award means one less for a man. I actually have supported affirmative action even though I was a bit miffed when I applied for a job at a government lab and got back a questionnaire that was looking to see if I was a minority in any way so that I could be an affirmative action hire. I threw away the questionnaire and looked for a job in the private sector. When working for a NASA subcontractor, all my NASA contacts of similar age were women or minorities the only white guys were much older. I understand that if we don't give preference to women and minorities, they will never come close to catching up. It does come at the expense of those who don't get a preference.
