Not enough info to understand. Was the guy working because he needs the insurance and paycheck or was he working so that he could feel like he was contributing, helping, living instead of dying. A job can give you a sense of value, it can give your life meaning when nothing else will. I don't think I will start dying until I can't work anymore.
