Not including the Chinese "people's" revolution is a glaring oversight. Adding them would not have defeated brevity or density.

UBI is not totally absent. Some places provide cash to all residents that is not means tested. It is very uncommon. If a lot of people thought it was a good idea it would be more common.

The most common remedy when people are starving is to give them food for free. We do this world wide and down the block. International food aid and local food pantries. I give food to food a food pantry every week.

In the U.S. we already provide food assistance to the poor. Food assistance used properly, nobody in the U.S. should starve. WIC, SNAP and school meals programs do or at least can feed everyone who can't afford food.

Before we resort to UBI we should implement Medicare for all and provide better and more education. UBI will not fill those holes.
