Not interested in a transition to digital. I would be happy if I could leave my phone at home. Carrying my phone bothers me more than carrying my wallet but worse is keys but getting rid of the keys would be very expensive. Replacing safes, door locks, car locks, bike locks tool box locks, gate locks, desk locks etc. is actually not just an expense it would be almost impossible. I have three large key rings. Some times I have to carry two of them. I have been wearing a wallet for 45 years, it would take me a while to get used to going without it. I can't imagine a more convenient way to pay for something than a wallet and a credit card. I don't know how paying with a phone works but it would seem to involve more steps and be available in fewer places. With the phone I am guessing that you take out the phone, unlock the phone, open an app, the cashier what app, send/receive the transaction, wait for approval then get a receipt. With a credit card I take out my wallet, remove the credit card, insert the credit card in the slot on the device on the counter, either press ok or not if it does not ask, wait for approval then get a receipt if I want one. I often do this at a self checkout, it is so easy I could not imagine putting a app on my phone to replace it. I think it would be so much harder to hack as well.
