Not trying to start an argument but I have had stepdaughters who lock their bedroom doors. Mostly they locked to door when they were misbehaving. Breaking in would cause some disturbance and alerted the occupant. I believe that bedroom doors and bathroom doors have locks to prevent being walked in upon while wanting privacy. Some people don’t remember to knock. I was with my family visiting my sisters Godparents and was on the toilet when my sisters Godmother walked in on me. At home at the time our bedroom and bathroom door locks required a key from either side and we only had but maybe a couple keys and some were painted shut so we did not lock the doors but we did knock. Almost no lock can’t be broken but I doubt a drunk could break in quietly. I did not think to lock the door so I understand the, not thinking to lock the door.
