the best foods are those that contribute to vitality and longevity. The highest quality is that which promotes the most health.
Or the best foods are the ones that make us the happiest, taste like we like and meet our nutritional needs. The French consider eating as an experience not just a matter of nutrition. What is the point of longevity if it makes you miserable. Mental health and happiness count for a lot.
If you have ever eaten a nice cut of meat or a great cheese you know that in our lifetimes they will not create a substitute that is nearly as tasty. Oh, they can make something that might be as good as a fast food hamburger or “Kraft American” but either of those are barely better than disgusting.
Healthy eating and tasty eats that make us happy are not mutually exclusive but people should not be forced to give up most of their preferred traditional meals. No Thanksgiving Turkey, no crawfish boils, no smoked salmon.
I never looked into the “Protein” craze or fad or whatever. I know that some people use it as an excuse to eat meat to excess. Most people don’t bother to justify eating to excess, they just do it. I don’t eat a lot of meat but I am not giving up Meat or Cheese. I will eat a balanced diet that includes a lot of different foods including Meat and Cheese.
