Our analysts never gave up their desktops even now when they work from home. Analysts never really needed to come into the office except for administrative stuff but they did before we had better remote working tools. CAD Designing, Computational Fluid Dynamics Modeling, Finite Element Stress Analysis, and Fiber Placement Modeling for Composite Structures are very demanding of Memory and Processing Speeds. Maybe not as demanding as training an AI but.... It is hard to find a laptop to do these tasks well and often it is best to custom build a desktop for them. We also give the analysts a laptop so they can do other task while their models run.
