Our universe is not nearly infinite. It is only twice as big as the distance light could travel since the big bang. Just to make this clear, infinity is more that the gazillion times bigger than that. Really, anything that has a limit is tiny compared to infinity. Also, you talk like this is the only universe. That seems unlikely to me.
