Really?

Buckminster Fuller’s claim, back around 1970, that we had the technology to feed the entire planet.

Which raised the obvious question —

Why weren’t we doing it?

You are misrepresenting his claim. He was claiming we could produce enough food to feed everyone on the planet.

The answer to your obvious question is multifaceted.

First is we don’t have the technology to incentivize enough charity to feed everyone. The charity is not for the food but for the distribution, the bribes, the excess to be diverted to feed rebel or government armies.

The claim presupposes that the food shortages are caused by famine and drought. Not conflict.

Your story is too long. It should have been a series.
