You are good at seeing both sides of the story and yes, the side that intrudes into the lives of public figures is ugly. An the side that attacks public figures for complaining or being sensitive to intrusions into their lives is ugly.

What I think you miss is that you can't eliminate the ugly side of human behavior.

I doubt your daughter or you or Millie thought much about these ugly people before you thought about putting yourself out there. My wife discourages me from writing and any sort of activism including writing this seemingly harmless response.

Her opinion is do not make yourself a target because there are way to many horrible people out there and you don't want to draw their attention.

What happened to Millie is wrong but it is almost certainly going to continue to happen. Even if it was illegal it would still happen.
