Should the divisions of emotional drudge tasks be determined by who is driving to have the social event. Take for example my wife having the LDS Missionaries over for dinner every month. I am not a member of the church. I help prep and support her in her desire to be a member in good standing with the church, but I do it for her, I would be happy if we did not have them visit. If I have some guys over to watch a football game, I don't expect her to do anything to prep, no special cleaning, if I think something needs cleaning, I would do it and I will clean up after the game.
I think looking into the invisibility of emotional labor. I think also worth looking into is the difference between voluntary vs. obligatory emotional labor.
