Some of the responses are alarmist. Yes, the Democrats will lose control of the Senate and House in 2022 and the Presidency in 2024. The Republicans already control the SCOTUS so they will control all three branches of the Federal Government but there are limits on the power of the Federal Government that even the Republican controled SCOTUS will not overturn.

I guess if the current Senate does not eliminate the Filibuster the next Senate will so that the Democrats can't block them. Yes, we will see no progressive legislation and much regressive legislation, but the Blue States can and must advance progressive policies insider their borders.

Do not kid yourselves, we already have an Authoritarian Federal Government, at least when viewed at the grass roots, man on the street level.

Progressives have lost the war against Conservatives; the Conservatives are backed by the smartest and richest and fought their battles on fronts neglected by progressives. They won first at the state and local level and gained control of most of the states. That lets them control the electoral college, election laws and gerrymander to win control of the House.

While none of this comforting and it is a little alarming, it is not the apocalypse that many make it out to be. Why, because even if Democrats were in control, we still would not be implementing progressive policies and we would still have an authoritarian Federal Government.

The real power is the Neoconservative/Liberal Plutocratic Oligarchic Monopolist Elites (POME), the Democrat versions of whom are only a little better than the Republicans.

There will not be a big reset, revolution, secession or any such. We will continue forward under the oppression of the rich who will let us eat crumbs and we will thank them for those crumbs and plead for more.

The terrorists' accusation that the U.S. is the great Satan has long been true, but this Satan has evil cousins in China and Russia. It seems that little but harm comes from great power and wealth.

Regarding Canada, they are nothing if not complicit is the sins of the U.S. Britian and France are no better. The Canadians are destroying the environment faster per capita than the U.S. and were just as evil to the Native Americans as the U.S.
