"Studying to be an engineer is just a great way to become unemployed." Maybe but studying to be an engineer will mean you know design, math, science, and other skills and abilities that are better to know than not know. The logic and critical thinking and understanding compromise and tradeoffs will be helpful no matter what you do in life.
