I wonder why so many people don't build latrines. They don't require water and don't contaminate the water supply. Maybe ignorance or laziness. Even when I had to use a chamber pot, I dumped it in the latrine in the morning.
Clean water, that is a real challenge. We always built camps and tent camped near "clean" water. What I used to think of as "clean water" is not as clean as I thought but it never made me sick. Now I have water purification tablets and filters for drinking water. would fill my canteen right out of the stream and drink it without treatment. I think a big part of the problem is people congregating in areas without adequate resources and exacerbating the overcrowding problem. Failing agricultural communities causing people to migrate to cities and build ghettoes and slums. I see this getting worse not better but thanks for writing about it.
