Thanks for this story.

I am glad the public is still showing this kind of support for NASA and Space Exploration. I have worked in our nations space programs for 40 years this past January. I worked on the first space shuttle launch.

NASA is evolving but evolving too slowly. I asked Jim Bridenstine a question about this at one of his talks at the Michoud Assembly Facility. I know he understands the problem and is doing what he can but NASA is a pretty big and hard to change fast.

I don't know how much the public understands the "Old Space" and the "New Space" communities feud. I used to work for an old space company and now I work for a new space company and I can understand the issues from both sides.

Things that drive new space crazy are like building a big expendable rocket that throws away $500 million dollars worth of reusable engines on every flight. We so badly want to do more with the money that is available so to see the money used poorly when it is so hard to come by just grates.

Again thanks for your story.
