Thanks for you for your thoughtful analysis. I probably should have used a different picture. I did not mean to make Language a driver, it was just a picture I gabbed quickly. I think your authoritarian vs. democratic divide is just as or more relevant. As to the cause of the conflict, it is clearly Putin, greed and fear. The ideological divide just gives Putin a wedge he can use to open a space for his armies.
