That future you suggest is almost reason enough to keep the technology-less vehicle I own. I don't want everything I own to be connect to the world and spying on me. I would pay 10 times the current price of gasoline to avoid driving a internet of things car. I want and EV but I want my privacy too.
What you suggest is much like that satellite radio company that keeps sending my wife ads to buy a subscription for their service. How many subscriptions are we expected to have. I guess we should be thankful we are allowed to drive at all.
