That we might now be more interested it those measures you suggest is a clear sign of progress. A step up Maslow’s hierarchy.

That many aren’t happy is a lesson in setting expectations. When we told people to pursue their dreams or you can be anything you want, we set them up to be disappointed.

And there’s also the stagnation in real wages, growing only 0.9 percent during the past 12 months.

Is misleading. 0.9 percent annual REAL growth in wages is not stagnation.
