The California crops are not vital. The crops could be grown someplace that has more abundant water and they could be better chosen to suit the sustainable water. I am not saying that the other misuses of water should be allowed to continue but their impact pales in comparison to agriculture. I believe more water resources also need to allocated to preserving the native habitats.

Yes, many California farmers are rich. They just trot out the poorer family farmers to generate sympathy.

Be careful not to let the corporate media distort your beliefs.

The U.S. produces a great surplus of food. We export more food than we import and a lot of our exports are charity. We produce so much milk that the government has to control the price so that dairy farmers can make a profit. Not a single drop of precious California water should go to a dairy farm. Same deal with cattle. Should not be raising cattle in a drought.
