The "composite nature" does not "necessitate," it is the demand for more now instead of conservation that necessitates using fossil fuels. If we could cut back consumption and wait for the virtuous cycle to provide more green power and products, we would end up using a lot less fossil fuels but we want more now, the third world wants what others have, nobody wants to sacrifice and wait for the green revolution.
