Harley-Davidson hits brakes on DEI
Tara Suter
Well Duh!
I can’t imagine what they were thinking in the first place. Talk about company leadership not understanding their customers. Really out of touch. I am a proponent of DEI applied properly and with intelligence. I am not a fan of Harley-Davidson, its products, its customers or its image. You would have thought that the president and board could have made it clear to their creditors and shareholders that an active and advertised DEI program would hurt sales. I think their best move would have been to implement some of DEI’s concepts without actually labelling it DEI. Stealth DEI. With all that said, I bet at Harley-Davidson as well as many other places they give/gave DEI lip service but did not really walk the talk anyway.
