The preconditions for post growth economies are not yet satisfied. If we flatline production and thus stop the growth of consumption while the population grows then we each must reduce our consumption, live on less. This would create great hardship unless consumption is more equitable.

For “Post Growth” these preconditions need to be met.

The rich and middle class must consume less.

The population must stop growing.
