The Russian Federation was never an empire.

…olitical collapse. I think I can already hear the year 1917 as it echoes through time like a siren. The graveyard of empires awaits the Russian Federation, and with every failed attempt of an offensive, that end comes ever closer.

The Russian Federation was never an empire. It ranks ninth in GDP and ninth in population. Its sphere of political influence is not that large. Empire, hah! Never was.
