There are not very many jobs for picking up litter. Mostly it is community service or volunteers. Yeah, there is the guys who clean parking lots with street sweepers. Certainly they could do other similar jobs if people stopped trashing parking lots. I don't have quite the problem with trashing parking lots as I do with those trashing rural highways and roads. Worse are the people who don't just litter but actually dump loads of trash and debris in rural, scenic areas.

Yes we should replace some industries with more sustainable ones. If we are going to use disposable containers we should dispose of them properly and that does not mean throw them out a car window. I wonder if you are the type that shoots up road signs. That is another of my pet peeves. I like shooting as much as the next person or more likely even more but everyone who shoots a road sign should lose their right to own a gun.
