Thinking about transgender athletes

California Gov. Gavin Newsom called it “unfair” to allow transgender athletes to participate in female college and youth sports.

I think he is wrong about this, they should be allowed to participate. I think the medals and records should make note of and differentiate for gender assigned at birth. If a sport has classes of participation segregated by gender it was done for a reason, and I think often that reason is still valid. Alternately, maybe trans persons should only compete against or with other trans persons. Being trans is not a proper justification for denying someone the opportunity to participate.

The rules need to be amended to allow participation and the best and most proper experience for everyone.
