This is a good but flawed story.
It provides a distorted view of the likelihood of this "Main Street" being able to provide a living wage. First success is more elusive than the author suggests. The rewards of that success are rarely enough to support a family. Success is fleeting, things change fast. Success requires a lot of hustle. There will be a lot of burn out and crushed entrepreneurs and performers. Turning your passion into a job is a recipe for poisoned passion.
E-Bay, Amazon, YouTube, Medium, Patreon, etc. are best as a side hustle or as the second income in a two income family. Find a steady job that has the flexibility (and medical benefits) so you can pursue a side hustle.
