This is a wonderful story.

I see no where in your story where you state that you believe that Jesus is God and that he rose from the dead. I am not sure you are a Christian.

I am not convinced that Jesus is God and rose from the dead but I follow Jesus' teachings along with the teachings of others.

Why do other people know that you claim to be a Christian and thus don't include you in their recreation? Do you go around telling Jesus stories?

I am put off by a lot of self-proclaimed Christians because I perceive them as hypocrites. They do think they are better than non-Christians and will tell you if you let them that you are going to hell if you don't believe that Jesus is God and that you can only go to heaven if you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

As to smoking and drinking, most of the Christians I knew growing up did both unless they were members of a fringe sect and some to those prohibited music and dancing too. Not so many I know now smoke and it is only the LDS and Baptists who don't drink.

Do you carry a bible or wear a visible cross?

I am a bit put off by people who display their religion. Jews, Muslims, Sikhs, was well as Christian and others displaying symbols and dress of their religions are divisive and to my mind prejudice. Religions that require it bother me. Anything that makes you stand out makes me thing you think you are special and better.

A person truly at peace with themselves might have a hard time hiding it but they don't need clothes or jewelry to show it.

The idea of clergy and judges wearing uniforms or robes is an affront to the idea that all people are equal.

Thanks for reading my rant. I like your story and think you are a good person.
