Three of the four countries that have landed on the Moon are BRICS

The Indian space agency just softlanded a spacecraft on the South Pole of the Moon and a brought along a lunar rover.

The title “Three of the four countries that have landed on the Moon are BRICS” mostly says it all. The USA, China, Russia and now India are the only countries to successfully land spacecraft on the moon and India is the only one to do so on the south pole and China is the only one to do so on the “dark side of the Moon.” Of note, Russia, China, and India are three of the five founding members of the BRICS. An interesting side note is that Russia just failed in its latest attempt to land a spacecraft on the Moon. Thinking about this a little deeper. Maybe Russia has not landed on the Moon, that was the Soviet Union. Russia is a waning power and India is surely on the rise. China, well, we will have to see.
