Tough love. You need to find out what you know that most people don't and write about that. Maybe instead write fiction or poetry. I think the problem is you used a click bait title that offered more than you delivered. If you are going to write about economics, either let people know that you are writing to the less well informed or beginners (so you don't waste peoples time reading things they already know) or write at a higher level. If you have to explain how the CPI is calculated you are talking to neophytes. If you audience is that ignorant (and I don't mean stupid, just uninformed). It was a good move to provide a link to the source.
