Trump might be an idiot but he is threatening everyone with tariffs not just China, Mexico and Canada. He wants the money and will make up any excuse to slap tariffs on some or use the threat to get favorable trade deals. With Trump it is unwise to think that what he said is why he does what he does. He is a liar.
