Well, get over it. You get what you pay for. Think of it as a promotion, a few episodes for free, if you like it start paying for it. That you got to listen for free for a long time is just a bonus. I think that free content is leaving good content unsupported. So much free crap that nobody thinks that good journalisms is worth paying for.

I hate the subscription model, subscribe but you can never quit. They make it so hard.

Someone need to come up with a better pay by the drink model with micro payments so I can pay to read or listen to individual stories without a commitment to a relationship. Even Medium is becoming a crap shoot. I have had a subscription since the started subscriptions but right now I have a hard time finding something worth reading including this story that I read out of desperation for something interesting on Medium. (I actually don't like podcasts especially the video kind, I hate talking heads).
