What is up with the people in this story and all the dogs? Pets are very expensive. Not as expensive as children but still....

The 6 adults and 6 cars, also seems out of balance. I see it in neighborhoods around here too. My stepson lives with his grandmother but has two cars, one of which is a very expensive (prestigious) car. He lives with his grandmother because she spoils him, something his mother will not do. He will probably still be living with his grandmother when he turns 30 in a few years. He sees nothing wrong with mooching off her.
