When I lived in Florida, we could walk to shopping but not much else because of the two golf courses that were square in the middle of the city. It is almost like the city grew around the golf courses. I don't really know what to think about those golf courses. I loved seeing the sandhill cranes that spent time on the golf courses and the green space was lovely. I think they should have been on the edge of town like the third golf course we had. The protections for St. John's River wetlands prevented the city from causing much damage to that habitat, but the city did pollute the Indian River Lagoon. I think that is corrected now, I have been away for a while.
