When you buy a product or service, how important is the price, how important is quality and how important is the ethics of the provider. I bet almost no one checks to see if the provider pays living wages, provides family leave, if the provider is lax in enforcing social justice in there workplaces. We might sometimes check to see if they make there products in the U.S. When we started only caring about price and quality and not environmental and social impacts we created our polluted, low wage, low benefit, sexist and racist product and service providers.
