Is stupidly ludicrous. If all the ice on the planet melted the seas could only rise to 300 feet above its current level. A mountain is hardly required to stay about the water level, just a modest hill. Oh, it would take centuries for all that ice to melt.

Maybe your story is part parody not serious.
