White Middle Class Boomer prosperity was provided because of exploitation and privilege. Millennial and Gen X suffering is the result of the diminishment of that exploitation and privilege.

While it is not a zero sum deal, you can't expect to give up privilege and still reap its benefits. We can't reduce environment destruction without sacrifice. Old wealth, old money, Boomers will not be the ones that sacrifice, they have already reaped their rewards. You can add to that disparity the post WWII victory bonus that continued until the late 60 to mid 70's where the U.S. middle class had a huge global competitive advantage. Globalization flipped that advantage to disadvantage.

While Millennials and Gen X might not be crybaby brats they are calling for (at least some of them) wealth redistribution. Take money from Boomers and give it to Millennials and Gen X. Boomers then flexed their muscles and said, FU we will take a tax cut instead. Millennials then tried to roll out MMT and UBI. Guess what, we have a version of the courtesy of Boomers, QE, huge Fed balance sheet , massive debt and deficits. Funny thing is only a tiny fraction trickles down to the poor and it all floods up to the rich. The rich play one generation against the other. I say eat the rich. The Neo-Liberal/Conservative Plutocratic Oligarchic Elites, Billionaires and their bought and paid for Political Lackies in the White House, Congress and the SCOTUS run the show and can't be supplanted. Why because the control the political process and the Main Stream Media.

I have empathy for Millennials and Gen X but they don't understand, they are tilting at windmills if they think that whining can change the Status Quo or even voting can change the Status Quo.

I say they should suck it up and try to game the system to make a life for themselves.
