Why is my feed being packed with 4 year old stories

That kid was not born when these stories were written. Why would the jump to the top of my feed.
Seriously, it seems the algorithm’s not doing a good job for me.
It is not just here on Medium. I get ads push to me that aren’t even close to my interest. Some of the ads are interesting from a voyeuristic point of view but I would never buy the products. Yes, I like to look at pretty models, but I don’t buy women’s clothes.
Why does Medium think I want to read 4-year-old stories?
