One of tribalism’s most pernicious effects is that it comes to dictate our convictions. It determines for us when we ought to care about something and when we ought to suspend interest in that. And the factor it uses to make this determination is political allegiance.

But maybe you don’t belong to a tribe or you put your morals above tribe.

About a third of the electorate self-identify as Independent so I guess a third do not belong to a tribe.

Are you sure you are a conservative or want to be a conservative. I am a registered Republican and have been for decades but am often accused of being a RINO as I do not agree with the whole Republican platform but not being Registered to a party means you don’t get to vote in the Primaries.

I have never been happy about partisan politics and are rarely happy with our choice of candidates. Big Parties, Big Government and Big Corporations will be our downfall.
