It is what I did and I am sure it made all the difference. Eventually my sister moved as well. My brother stayed put and while he and his wife are doing alright, they are not doing as well as our sister and I. Move, yes, and maybe not just once. I have relocated 4 times, Maine to, Florida, California, back to Florida and finally Louisiana. My sister changed states just a couple times Maine to Virginia then to Maryland but moved around in those states.

A story in “The Daily Economy” was an inspiration for this story. Particularly this passage.

“Moving also opens doors to new social networks that offer better insights into available opportunities. Consequently, children from low-income families who relocate to high-opportunity areas with more robust social ties and networks tend to see significant long-term increases in income (especially relative to their parents).”

Assess the opportunities where you are compared to the rest of the country or the world. To be upwardly mobile you might need to be physically mobile.
