Yeah, the final sentence might be a little over done. Some would, some wouldn't, some might not even recognize how much the husband does. My second wife was like that, she only noticed if I did something wrong. We divorced.
Most of my sewing is repairs and alterations but I have a sewing machine and make simple things like curtains and pillowcases, carry bags (like for groceries). I think I could make more complicated things, but I have not yet. I also do leather work or have just started. I got some tools, and I repaired a holster and a pair of sandals.
When my first wife and I bought this house (our second home) we almost never used the dining room (Thanksgiving, Christmas, when the missionaries came over). We had a kitchen table that seated four and we mostly used that when we had kids at home. After the kids had grown, we would eat in the family room on tray tables watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune (my wife's choices). My wife passed away and I got remarried, we sometimes did similar but with different TV shows or no TV. I did the cooking for both wives (after the kids grew up, shared cooking before). I also did the shopping (after the kids moved out), kind of have to do the shopping if you are doing the cooking. I did the dishes. When my first wife was terminally ill, we had a cleaning lady who did bathrooms and floors. I always, with either wife, did more than my share of the laundry.
