Yes, it is. Whether it is a "crisis" depends on the individual and their circumstances.

In my early 50's I lost my parents, my wife and my job. I was completely free and adrift. I drifted awhile but eventually got a new job and a new wife. This was very exciting and wonderful until it wasn't. 15 years later I dumped the wife and the job, I now have a better appreciation for my freedom. I am remaking my life for a second time.
