Yes, its bullshit. It is the usual bullshit. Even women do it. Really yes. Most times each side blames the other. This is no surprise. Some times, rarely, but some times the guilty party accepts responsibility. Most times the guilty party tries to put the blame on the other party to preserve their reputation, friends or marketability. Quite often there is more than enough guilt to go around, nobody is innocent. That is not to say that it isn't the guys who are the biggest jerks.
